Cassandra's EH Holden Page!

Dedicated to all things relating to the EH Holden

Where did my EH Holden love affair begin?

I guess I have been madly in love with the EH Holden since I was a teenager. One of my best friends drove a light blue EH Holden that her dad had built up for her. I really wanted to have a car like that.

My first car was an old Holden - I cannot remember what model it was. It had a really sick engine. Then, when I got married and while our first daughter was only a baby we used to drive around in an old yellow panel van - once again not sure of the make or model but I think it was a Holden.

I had a sad Mini for a while (the Mini wasn't sad but the motor was).
Then we drove a red Camira until I separated from my husband.

I got landed with a Volkswagon Kombi for about seven years - it was a nice Kombi and the children loved it - but the motor supports were no good and I went through a lot of motors. They literally vibrated to pieces. We all loved the Kombi and it did a lot of miles. It finally died and I decided not to put any more money into it - best decision I ever made.

Now I drive a nice red Falcon station wagon - it looks good and drives good. It is mechanically sound and doesn't demand a lot of money to run it. I bought it quite cheap up at the auctions.

I have driven and owned a few cars in my days. I still think that I would look okay sitting behind the steering wheel of a gorgeous EH Holden. So if anyone out there wants to donate an EH to a nice owner who will look after it like one of her own children just email me: mailto:cassandra_mcqueeen@hotmail.com

As you can see I have driven a few cars in my time but nothing as beautiful as an EH Holden. They are stylish, neat, have a lovely form and just get so many glances from people as they cruise down the road. They are a very unique car and I would really love to own one - it won't happen overnight but it will happen.

This is obviously a very brief history of my life and of the cars I have been lucky or unlucky enough to own and drive.

I am quite interested in cars now. I have started to attend car shows and I enjoy looking at old cars, customised cars, hot engines, hot cars, cars with fins, and any car that is well cared for and nicely painted and on display at a car event.

I have started to take some photos and you will see that I am making a few web pages showing off some of my photos. I started to go to car shows early this year and every time I went I had forgotten to take my camera. Well now I take my camera and snap away like a crazy tourist.

It is starting to cost a bit to get my photos developed so I think that a digital camera might be on the shopping list soon.

I was lucky enough to snap a nice red EH on Saturday 3rd November when we attended a car swap meet at the docklands. It is not pictured on this page yet - it hasn't been developed.

On Sunday 11th November we are off to an all EH Holden day. Want to find out what other car events are on? Click here to go to my Car Event Calendar page. We saw lots of gorgeous cars at the swap meet at the docklands (3rd November) - there was another blue EH which I didn't take a photo of - it was badly in need of a paint job and wasn't quite up to photograph material yet!

After I come back from the EH Holden day I will add some more pictures to this site. Below are some links to my other web pages. There are also links to other EH Holden web sites I have found. Want to swap links with me? Send me an email : cassandra_mcqueeen@hotmail.com

This is an update. On Sunday November 11th we went to Albert Park Lake to see the EH Day put on by the EH Holden Car Club of Victoria. Now I definitely want to own an EH. What a range of beautiful looking cars - they are the pride and joy of their owners. I am not sure how many EH's were there - drivers (owners) even came down from NSW to be there. I would guess that there was between 35 and 45 cars there - from sedans to panel vans, station wagons, convertibles, and racing cars. I took lots of photos of course and when I get some developed I will add them to another display page.

Two more updates - the photos that I had developed after the EH Holden day at Albert Park can be seen here: EH Holden Photos. And I have finally purchased my very own EH Holden. I bought her about eight months ago. She has a bit of rust in her body and needs a lot of work. I have her under wraps in my back yard. When I get a chance to take some photos I will include them in a progress report page. Yay I finally got the car of my dreams!
